When a South Windsor homeowner—who works as a dentist in a commercial building previously serviced by Windsor Window Imaging—began renovating her residence, she turned to our team based on her positive experience. The Challenge
The home featured 25 west-facing windows in various areas, including bedrooms, the living room, the foyer, and the closets. With full afternoon sun exposure, the interior was subjected to significant heat and glare. Many of these windows were irregular in shape and quite large, making an interior application not only impractical but also unsafe and non-compliant with warranty guidelines. An interior film could cause thermal stress and lead to glass cracking, so an exterior film was the only suitable option.
To access the upper-level and garage windows—especially those that extended out over 30 feet—our team used a large articulating boom lift. The lift had to reach up 25 feet and out 30 feet from the lawn, as the driveway could not support the weight of the equipment. This work was carefully timed to take place before new landscaping was installed, ensuring the lawn could be safely used without risk of damage.
Adding to the complexity, all existing caulking around the windows had to be removed and replaced with new sealant as part of the exterior installation—a step we efficiently completed within the same 1.5-day timeframe.
